Report: Guardians' QB Quinten Dormady released for allegedly leaking playbook
March 3, 2023 / By Brayden Nazarian
Trying to make sense of a wild situation in Orlando.
According to Dov Kleiman on Twitter, the Orlando Guardians released backup quarterback Quinten Dormady after he allegedly leaked his team's playbook to their opponents.
The Guardians apparently caught wind of the situation, investigated, and ultimately cut Dormady. His release was made official on Tuesday, March 1st.
In addition, Dormady's stats for the 2023 season have been erased from the XFL website. He threw for 142 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in his lone performance during Week 1.
Many were surprised to see the Guardians start the season so poorly, but if the above is proven true, the team will have a valid excuse. In two weeks, they've lost twice and allowed 30 or more points in each contest.
One thing is for sure, though: the Guardians will need to add another QB to their roster.
